On San Jacinto Day, Texas commemorates the Battle of San Jacinto, which took place on April 21, 1836, an event that resulted in the independence of Texas from Mexico.

A little fact, the battle only lasted for 18 minutes, but a hundred Mexican soldiers are said to have either died, injured, or captured. While on the other side, nine Texas soldiers were killed, and 26 were wounded.
